Two regular season games remain in Western AAA basketball and playoff seading is on the line tonight for area teams. The Seneca Bobcats host the BHP Bears on Senior Night, while the West-Oak Warriors host the Daniel Lions and the Walhalla Razorbacks visit the Pickens Blue Flame. The girls’ games tip at 6pm immediately followed by the boys’ games around 7:30pm. You can listen to all the exciting action of Seneca High School varisty basketball here on WSNW.

The South Carolina men's basketball team pulled within six points, but solid free throw shooting down the stretch saw No. 12 Florida escape with a 74-66 win in SEC action on Thursday night. The Gamecocks fall to 9-12 overall and 1-6 in the SEC with the loss. Sophomore forward Damontre Harris had an impressive night for the Gamecocks with a near double-double, scoring 12 points, collecting nine rebounds and matching a career high with six blocks.

Clemson guard Tanner Smith has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District IV men's basketball team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday. Smith was one of five first-team selections from District IV, which covers Division I institutions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Smith is the only three-time all-district selection from the Clemson men's basketball program. He is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this month.

Both Clemson University and the University of South Carolina had impressive 2012 recruiting classes when all the smoke setteled around National Signing Day on Wednesday. There were few surprises for either team and both coaches said they were very pleased with the student-athletes recruited to their campuses. Wide receiver Joe Craig has been dismissed from the Clemson football team. Head Coach Dabo Swinney made the announcement on Wednesday evening. The coach said, Craig has been permanently dismissed from the Clemson football team for a violation of team rules. Craig was a red-shirt freshman wide receiver on Clemson's 2011 team. He finished the season with three receptions for 18 yards in seven games this past season. He also lettered on the Clemson outdoor track team during the spring of 2011.
